Soul Jars were stone jars that used to contain the second souls of every peculiar that ever lived in the Library of Souls. The Soul Jars were stored in small coves in the walls.

Description[]

They were oval-topped and flat on the bottom, large enough to hold a bottle or a candle. The Stone Jars were simple, unadorned things, cylindrical in shape with a tapered neck and a cork plugging its top, its stone the same reddish color as the strange hills of Abaton. The labels are spidery and handwritten. The labels on each of the jars are written in Old Peculiar. Though most of them were small and plain, a few were large, ornate, and heavy, with hourglass shapes and double handles and gem-toned wings painted on their surfaces; it seemed clear they contained the souls of powerful and important (or self-important) peculiars. On the inside, the soul jars contain a blue light. When dropped or destroyed, a blue liquid comes out.
